Hello! Welcome to my about me page! It’s all about me!

My name is Alexis de Guzman. I was born and raised in Saco, Maine! I started attending UNE in the Spring semester of 2018. I am majoring in Dental Hygiene. I didn’t get to where I am quite easy though. I graduated from Thornton Academy in June of 2016. Three months after I graduated I was enrolled in the military, where I began training as a US soldier at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Roughly a month into my training I was pulled and processed out of the military due to new found medical reasons that were not noticed during my examinations at M.E.P.S.(Military Entry Processing Station). After being sent home I looked at what I wanted to do with my future. I was lost, but not for long. I soon began to look at schools near me. It wasn’t long before I was enrolled at USM…but also un-enrolled from USM.  As it turns out USM didn’t have the education that I was looking for, but UNE did. I have not been attending UNE long, but I already know how great I feel about it. From Statistics to English, I really enjoy all of my classes.

English class has always been a favorite of mine. I have always been able to write pretty well, at least I think so. My favorite type of writing is creative writing. With creative writing, or any type of reading that I am really interested or know about, I can easily write for hours on end about it. When I write, I through grammar and MLA format to the wind, however, I carefully edit my pieces thoroughly when I am through. Every English class I take helps me more and more with editing my own pieces and being creative when I write, which I am very grateful for. This also excites me for new English classes because each one will help me to be more confident in my work.

Along with new English classes, I get excited over all new classes and am always willing to learn something new!
